If you create a Cairn account, we may collect: * Email address * Username * Authentication credentials * Profile information you choose to provide

Your authentication credentials are protected using appropriate security measures and passwords are not stored in plain text.

When you create or interact with cairns, we may collect and store: * Cairns you create * Text, messages, images, videos, audio or other content you add to cairns * Information about cairns you pick up or interact with * Contributions you add to existing cairns * Public username and profile information * Reports and moderation information

Content that you choose to make publicly available may be visible to other Cairn users.

Cairn may use location information to provide location-based functionality, such as discovering cairns near you or placing a cairn at a particular location.

Depending on the feature and your permissions, this may include: * Precise location (when actively using discovery) * Approximate location * Location coordinates associated with a placed cairn

You can control location permissions through your device settings. We do not use location information for purposes unrelated to providing Cairn's location-based functionality unless otherwise disclosed.

We may collect limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the App, such as: * Device type and operating system * App version * IP address * Crash and diagnostic information * Basic usage information * Information about errors and technical problems

We may use information to: * Create and maintain your account * Provide Cairn's core functionality * Display and manage cairns * Enable users to discover nearby cairns * Associate contributions with usernames where applicable * Provide social and community features * Prevent spam, abuse, fraud and manipulation * Moderate user-generated content * Diagnose crashes and technical problems * Improve Cairn * Communicate important information about the service * Comply with applicable laws

Some information you choose to publish through Cairn may be visible to other users. This may include: * Username * Public profile information * Cairns you create * Content contained within publicly accessible cairns * Contributions you make to cairns * Information necessary to display or locate a cairn

Do not place personal, private, or sensitive information inside a public cairn unless you are comfortable with other users seeing it.

Location is an important part of Cairn's functionality.

When location permission is enabled, Cairn may use your device's location to help you discover or interact with location-based cairns.

You may disable location access through your device settings at any time. Some Cairn features may not function correctly without location access.

We do not sell your location information.

Cairn may allow users to browse publicly available cairns without creating an account.

Using Cairn without an account does not necessarily mean that no technical information is collected. Limited information may still be processed to operate, secure and improve the service.

Features such as creating cairns, contributing to cairns, or interacting with the community require an account.

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Cairn, including providers for: * Authentication and identity services * Cloud hosting and database services * File and media storage * Analytics and crash reporting * Content delivery and notifications

These providers process information as necessary to provide services to us and are expected to protect the information they process.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect safety, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect our rights.

Cairn allows users to create and publish content that may be viewed by other users.

We review, remove, or moderate content that violates our Terms of Use or applicable laws.

Users are provided with in-app tools to report inappropriate content or users, and where applicable, block other users.

We retain account information and user-generated content for as long as necessary to provide Cairn.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize associated personal information, subject to information that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

Some information may remain temporarily in backups before being permanently deleted according to our retention procedures.

You may request deletion of your Cairn account and associated personal information at any time.

Account deletion can be initiated: * In the App: Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account. * On the Web: Visit our Cairn Account Deletion Page to submit an online deletion request.

Account deletion may result in the removal of your profile and associated personal information. User-generated content may be deleted, anonymized, or retained where necessary to preserve the integrity of existing cairns or comply with legal obligations.

Cairn is not specifically designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children where prohibited by applicable law.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us in violation of applicable law, please contact us.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

Cairn may use third-party services for authentication, hosting, storage, analytics, crash reporting, notifications, and other infrastructure (such as Google Play Services, Firebase Auth, and Firestore). These services process data according to their own policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Cairn evolves. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be communicated through the App.
